Overview
The Publisher App is Lede’s management interface for your publication, at app.joinlede.com. It gives you direct control over your subscribers, your site’s configuration, your analytics, and your support requests.
Using the app, you can manage your subscriber base, configure how your site looks and behaves, set up integrations with third-party services, and control features like paywalls and registration walls — all from a single interface.
Accessing the Publisher App
The Publisher App is available to your site’s administrators. Sign in at app.joinlede.com with your Lede account, or jump straight there from WordPress: the Lede menu in your WordPress admin sidebar links to Dashboard, Customer Data, Analytics, Support, and Settings, and signs you in automatically — you will not be asked for a password again.
How the Publisher App is Organized
The app has five top-level tabs — Overview, Customer Data, Analytics, Support, and Settings. Two of them do most of the day-to-day work:
- Customer Data — View and manage your customers, orders, products, newsletters, sales, and coupons. This is where you handle day-to-day subscriber and revenue operations.
- Settings — Configure how your site looks and behaves. This is where you manage your site’s appearance, content gates, messaging, integrations, and feature toggles.
Each tab has a sidebar on the left that lets you navigate between sections. The sidebar changes depending on which top-level tab you’re on.
Customer Data vs. Settings
A helpful way to think about the distinction:
- Customer Data is about who — your subscribers, what they’ve purchased, what newsletters they receive, and what discounts are available to them.
- Settings is about how — how your site looks, how users log in, how your paywall behaves, what messaging visitors see, and which third-party services are connected.
Changes you make in the Settings panel take effect on your live site. Some changes (like color or typography updates) may take a few minutes to appear due to caching.
