Google Search Results
If your site isn’t displaying as you’d like in Google Search results, you can adjust your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) settings. Your search results can include your logo, your site name, and a description.
- Logo: Pulled from your favicon (site icon).
- To adjust your favicon, navigate to: WP Admin > Appearance > Customize > Site Identity > Site Icon.
- To adjust your favicon, navigate to: WP Admin > Appearance > Customize > Site Identity > Site Icon.
- Site Name: Pulled from your Site Title, but if your Site Title is too long, Google may choose another option to display.
- To adjust your Site Title, navigate to: WP Admin > Homepage > Yoast SEO (sidebar section) > SEO > SEO title.
- To adjust your Site Title, navigate to: WP Admin > Homepage > Yoast SEO (sidebar section) > SEO > SEO title.
- Description: Pulled from your Site Meta Description.
- To adjust your Site Description, navigate to: WP Admin > Homepage > Yoast SEO (sidebar section) > SEO > Meta description.
- To adjust your Site Description, navigate to: WP Admin > Homepage > Yoast SEO (sidebar section) > SEO > Meta description.
- If after making changes to the above, you are still not seeing a change in Google Search results, consider re-submitting your site for indexing via Google Search Console.
Social Sharing Links
You can also change how your site’s links display when articles are shared via social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter. Social shares often include the featured article image, your URL, the article’s headline, your site name, and the dek (subheading) of the article.
- There are several options for the separator that can display between the article’s headline and your site name.
- To adjust, navigate to: WP Admin > Yoast SEO > Settings > Site basics > Title Separator > Save changes.
