Overview
The Customer Data tab in the Publisher App is where you manage your subscriber base and revenue-related records. It connects directly to the Lede Customer Data Platform (CDP) and syncs with Stripe for financial operations.
The sidebar on the left lists the available object types. Click any item to view a filterable, sortable list. Click a row to open the detail view where you can view or edit the record.
Sections
Customers
Browse, search, and edit your registered users and subscribers. From a customer’s detail view you can:
- Update their email address or password (changes sync automatically to Stripe)
- View their subscription status and history
- Grant or revoke a complimentary subscription
- Manage their newsletter subscriptions — opt the customer into or out of any of your newsletters. Premium newsletters can only be switched on for customers whose active subscription includes premium newsletter access; opting out is always available.
- Delete a customer record
Financial operations like refunds or price changes should be done in Stripe, where they will automatically sync back.
Orders
View transaction records for your subscribers. Each order represents a purchase event — a new subscription, a renewal, or a gift redemption. Orders are read-only and reflect what has occurred in Stripe.
Products
Manage your subscription products (tiers/levels). You can:
- Edit a product’s name, description, and pricing
- Update monthly and annual prices (new Stripe price objects are created automatically)
- Configure product groups for bundled offerings
Price changes apply to new transactions only. Existing subscribers continue at their original price unless migrated.
Newsletters
Manage your email newsletters. Each newsletter corresponds to an opt-in list that subscribers can choose to receive. You can:
- Create new newsletters (the corresponding list is automatically created in your configured email provider — Beehiiv by default; Subtext is also supported)
- Edit newsletter names, descriptions, and settings
- Mark newsletters as active/inactive or premium (paid subscribers only)
Sales
Manage active sale pricing on your products. A sale applies a discount automatically to all purchases of a given product — no coupon code is needed. You can configure the discount amount, duration, and which products are included.
Coupons
Manage promotional codes that customers can enter at checkout for a discount. Unlike sales, coupons require the customer to know and enter the code. You can configure the discount amount, expiration, redemption limits, and which products the code applies to.
Tips
- Use the filter controls at the top of any list view to narrow results by status, date range, or other criteria.
- Use the export button to download a CSV of the current filtered view.
- The Publisher App reflects the current state of the CDP. Changes made in Stripe (refunds, cancellations) will appear here after syncing.
