Blocks are the components for adding content to your posts.
- For text, media, design elements, and widgets, the majority of available blocks come from the WordPress block editor.
- Many external services can also be embedded into Lede Posts with various embed blocks.
- Additionally there are three custom block types that are specific to Lede:
- Ad unit
- Newsletter
- Related post
Ad Unit
Manually adding an Ad Unit block to a post will display a 300 x 250 article ad from Google Ad Manager between blocks of content. Google Ad Manager must be configured in order to use this block. Setting this up can be self-served or configured with Lede’s assistance.
Newsletter
This block prompts your readers to sign up for your newsletter. Lede uses SendGrid to create and send newsletters.

This block allows you to display a related post. You can curate a related post by selecting a post via the Post Picker in the settings sidebar. If uncurated, the most recent post in the same primary category as this article will display.
