How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for WordPress Admin

Enabling two-factor authentication is generally a best practice to ensure your site remains secure. Two-factor authentication is required to use the WordPress Admin for users with the Administrator permission level on the Lede platform. 

To set up Two-Factor Authentication for your user account:

  1. Click “Profile” in the left sidebar of the WordPress Admin and scroll to the “Two-Factor Options” section of the page.
  2. Select which option(s) you want to Enable, and which Type you want as your primary method.
    • It’s ideal to set up a Type such as Email, Time Based One-Time Password (TOTP), or SMS as your Primary Method, and also enable “Backup Verification Codes (Single Use)” as another option.
  3. It’s ideal to set up a Type such as Email, Time Based One-Time Password (TOTP), or SMS as your Primary Method, and also enable “Backup Verification Codes (Single Use)” as another option.
  4. Verify your authentication code.
  5. Click “Update User” to save your changes.
